Syarikat Takaful Malaysia Keluarga Bhd’s (Takaful Malaysia) net profit for the third quarter ended Sept 30, 2018 (3Q18) surged 72.86% year-on-year (YoY) to RM83.96 million on higher net wakalah fee income.
In an exchange filing yesterday, the insurer noted the higher net wakalah fee income arises from its business growth in the family and general takaful business. Revenue for the quarter rose 36.27% YoY to RM648.95 million on higher sales generated by its two businesses segments.
The will remain focused on sustaining its position as the market leader in the family takaful business whilst expanding its market share in the general takaful business to establish a strong foothold in the industry, it added.
The company will continue to enhance its digital capability to increase its product and service accessibility and intensify its online marketing initiatives. “The company will also embark on multiple digital initiatives to further develop ‘customer centric’ value propositions to remain competitive in the industry,” it noted.
